Markel hires senior exec for trade credit and political risk team

Specialist insurer Markel International has appointed Naomi Murray as senior claims adjuster in its trade credit and political risk team.

Murray will report to claims manager and contracts counsel Antony Bastow, responsible for the overall trade credit and political risk claims function.

Following Murray’s appointment, Bastow will dedicate himself to product development. He will assist the underwriting teams based in London, Singapore, New York and Dubai, whilst Murray will support him and the team with value-added claims services.

Murray joins Markel with over 20 years of experience in the industry, having worked for Coface, MS Amlin and RPC.

Prior to joining Markel, she worked as consultant with UK-based Leadenhall Adjusting for nearly a decade.

“Naomi’s appointment is an important addition, which will further strengthen our global team,” said Ewa Rose, managing director, political risk and trade credit.

“Her extensive market knowledge will enable us to continue to provide the policyholders with the highest level of claims handling service. We are delighted to have someone with her outstanding reputation in the trade credit and political risk market join the team.”
