Markel names new underwriting assurance director

Markel Corporation has appointed Ashley Dillon as underwriting assurance director for the product line leadership team.

In her new role, Dillon will focus on enhancing, streamlining, and monitoring the underwriting practices in the US, Bermuda, and on a collaborative basis in Markel's London-based insurance operations.

She will be based in Markel's headquarters in Richmond, Virginia, and report to chief underwriting officer Robin Russo.

Russo commented: "Ashley has more than 13 years of experience and has been a highly visible and effective member of Markel's internal audit team since 2007.

"She will help us identify best practices and improve our underwriting, pricing, and peer review processes. I am certain that Ashley's work will be of great value to our product line leadership team in 2017 and beyond."
