Marsh appoints industry head

Broker Marsh has appointed Dean Klisura as global head of industries and placement. He replaces Jim Pierce who has joined Jardine Lloyd Thompson as chairman of its new US specialty business.

Klisura will report to John Drzik, president of global risk and specialties.

He will have global responsibility for Marsh’s marine, energy, aviation, construction, rail, power, mining, and infrastructure practices, in addition to leading the firm’s global placement organisation.

Klisura was recently appointed head of global placement. Prior to that, he served as Marsh’s US risk practices and specialties leader; global leader of Marsh's FINPRO practice; and global placement leader for FINPRO.

“Dean is a seasoned leader who will help us drive growth across our specialty business on a global scale. He will work with our practice leaders to bring specialised expertise and innovation to clients,” said Drzik.
