Marsh appoints leader of its UK Specie Division
Broker Marsh has hired Marcus Porter-Wright as leader of its UK Specie Division. He succeeds Philip Turner, who leaves Marsh in June to join Lloyd’s syndicate Canopius.
Porter-Wright will lead Marsh’s team of 30 specialists, which provides insurance and risk management advice to clients globally concerning highly valuable property, cash in transit, precious metals and precious stones. He reports to Paul Moody, head of Marsh’s UK Financial and Professional (FINPRO) Practice.
Porter-Wright has worked for Marsh since 2007 and was head of placement and UK retail within the FINPRO Practice’s Financial Services Division. He previously worked for the firm between 1990 and 1997, during which he spent four years in the Specie team.
In his 10-year period away from Marsh, from 1997-2007, Porter-Wright was a partner at an independent Lloyd’s broker, specialising in financial and professional-related insurance.
Moody said: “Marsh’s Specie Division advises clients on a very diverse range of risks, from fine art and jewellers’ block, to cash and precious metals in transit. Under Marcus’s leadership, Marsh is in a very strong position to advise our clients on insurance and loss mitigation in this specialised market.”
