Miller appoints head of Asia
Miller has appointed Simon Weaver as head of Asia with effect from September 1 2013.
Weaver joins Miller from JLT Asia where he was CEO of JLT Specialty Asia, responsible for developing and launching the specialty strategy in the region. He was part of the executive management team in Asia, which led 900 staff.
Weaver’s experience spans 25 years. Having started his career in the London Market, he has worked in Asia since 1996 and held managing director positions in Hong Kong, Indonesia and Singapore.
As head of Asia at Miller, he will be responsible for leading our business development strategy in the region, the operational management of the Asian offices and contributing to Miller’s overall growth plans.
Weaver will be based in Singapore and will report to Julian Taylor, who is a member of Miller’s partnership board and leads the energy business.
“We are delighted that someone of Simon’s experience and calibre has chosen to join us. He is highly respected in Asia and will play a leading role in furthering Miller’s growth in the region,” said Taylor.
