Specialist re/insurance broker Miller has hired catastrophe modeller Melissa Nunes to expand its in-house analytical capabilities.
Nunes has over six years of experience in cat modelling, having most recently served as a catastrophe analyst at JLT Re, where she gained experience in different geographical territories including time spent in Singapore.
Her expertise covers the use of the major vendor catastrophe models for multiple lines of business from both a reinsurance and direct perspective.
“Melissa has a wealth of catastrophe modelling experience and I am delighted that with her on board we can bring our cat-modelling capabilities in-house,” commented Mark Zammit, head of analytics at Miller.
Gary Clark, head of programmes and board member, added "Clients and markets are demanding more analytical and sophisticated services from brokers. Our ability to provide catastrophe modelling capabilities will significantly improve the valued service we already offer our customers."
