Miller hires XL claims expert

Miller has appointed Alvin Poon to head up its claims team in Asia. He joins the business from XL Re where he was claims manager.

“Claims handling is a cornerstone of our business and the appointment of Alvin underlines our commitment to maintaining our status as a market leader in this field,” said Simon Weaver, head of Asia at Miller.

Poon has almost three decades of insurance market experience, primarily in claims but also in underwriting and compliance. He is experiences at recovering losses across most classes. Based in Singapore, he will co-ordinate Miller’s claims handling in Asia, working alongside broking, account handling and claims specialists throughout the business.
