Monte Carlo or Bust event gets underway
The Lloyd’s and London insurance market charity event Monte Carlo or Bust has got underway today.
The event sees 15 Citroen 2CVs that have been sponsored by a variety of companies within the insurance sector driving from Lloyd’s 1 Lime Street building to Casino Square in Monte Carlo in time for the 2015 Reinsurance Rendezvous event.
There will be a number of stops for those taking part on the way, with the 2CV’s set to reach Paris this evening, where the event’s official sponsor, Amundi Asset Management, will host a party at the Châlet des Iles restaurant in the Bois de Boulogne.
The cars will also pass by Reims, France before they reach Monte Carlo on Sunday September 13, before being driven to the conference venue on Monday September 14.
John Nelson, chairman of Lloyd’s and Inga Beale, chief executive officer (CEO) of Lloyd’s will greet the drivers on their arrival at the conference venue. Drivers will then attend reception events in Monte Carlo.
It is hoped the Monte Carlo or Bust event will raise more than £50,000 for four selected charities: Demelza Hospice Care, RedR UK, Coombe Trust and Action against Hunger.
Those who wish to donate can do so here.
