Munich Re has appointed two new board members.
Doris Höpke who is a lawyer, has been head of Munich Re in Madrid since 2011, and has worked for Munich Re since 1999. She will take over responsibility for the Health Division from the chairman of the board, Nikolaus von Bomhard in May 2014.
Pina Albo, also a lawyer, joined Munich Re in 1992 and has served as president of the reinsurance division in America at Munich Reinsurance America since 2009. She will take on responsibility for the Europe and Latin America Division in conjunction with Georg Daschner from October 2014, and will assume sole charge of the division in January 2015.
Daschner, who has been a member of the board of management since 2003, will retire at the end of 2014.
Ahead of the company’s Annual General Meeting, Ursula Gather and Gerd Häusler were suggested for election and eight existing representatives for re-election.
