Munich Re has partnered with Next Insurance, a California-based online insurance start-up targeting small businesses in the US, on a new product targeting commercial photographers.

The insurance policy will enable photographers to buy, renew and maintain policies online.

Andrew Rear, chief executive of Digital Partners at Munich Re, said: "We're looking forward to watching Next Insurance take on a market that is already significant and expected to grow by double digits in the coming years.

"Munich Re is committed to investing significantly in digitizing insurance to benefit clients and insurers around the globe.”

Guy Goldstein, chief executive officer and co-founder of Next Insurance, said: "This partnership between Next Insurance and Munich Re will bring a whole new level of service and ease-of-use for these customers.

"We couldn't be more excited to insure photographers through this online platform, which is already available to personal trainers."
