Navigators makes leadership changes in global claims restructure

The Navigators Group has restructured the leadership team of its global claims organisation, effective September 1.

The newly created role of global chief claims officer has been appointed to Glen Bronstein, who was promoted from the position of executive vice president and chief claims officer.

Bronstein will have oversight responsibility for the global claims organisation, encompassing the claims operations of the company’s three global underwriting segments.

Prior to Navigators, Bronstein worked at American International Group for 19 years where he served in a variety of executive positions.

Succeeding Bronstein is Marina Barg, who has been promoted to chief claims officer for US insurance.

Barg joined Navigators in 2014 as the leader of the US casualty claims unit, and before that served as a claim executive at Starr Companies.

Ruth Roberts will continue to act as chief claims officer for claims arising out of Navigator’s London market business.

Finally, Michael Phipps has been appointed to the role as a claims manager for Navigators International Insurance Company, Navigator’s recently authorised UK domiciled insurance company.

Phipps previously work at Chubb in a variety of claims management roles in the UK, Australia and Asia.

Stanley Galanski, president and chief executive officer of The Navigators Group, commented: “We are excited to announce this leadership team for our global claims organisation. The claims settlement process represents the most critical touchpoint in our relationship with our policyholders and provides an opportunity to create a distinctive competitive advantage.

“We are proud of our technically-excellent team and customer-oriented approach. A global leader will enhance our ability to provide consistently excellent outcomes across geographic borders, which is important to meet the dynamic needs of our global customers.”
