New UK MGA Capital Risks taps AIG executive
Capital Risks, a newly-formed transaction liability insurance managing general agency (MGA), has hired Alex Smith as underwriting director.
Smith will join Capital Risks in August 2017 from AIG, where for the past four years he served as an underwriter within its UK mergers and acquisitions team.
"Alex has an excellent reputation and we are delighted that he has chosen to join Capital Risks," said Nathan Sewell, CEO of Capital Risks. "Since our launch, we have had strong interest from a range of brokers and other stakeholders.
"We are working on a number of potential deals and have just underwritten our first risks, so we are excited that Alex will be joining us and helping to build on this early interest and momentum."
Capital Risks was launched in mid-June 2017 and provides transaction liability insurance for small and medium-sized deals, which are currently underserved in the market.
