Nexus hires former Towergate exec as CFO

Specialty managing general agent (MGA), Nexus Underwriting, has appointed Stuart Rouse as chief operating officer (COO) and chief financial officer (CFO).

Most recently, Rouse served as COO of insurance broker HW Wood. He has served as CFO of Fusion Insurance, CFO of Towergate Underwriting, COO of Towergate Financial and CFO of Aspen's managing agency and Aspen’s insurance division.

Colin Thompson, chief executive officer of Nexus, said: "This appointment is indicative of the way we’re strengthening our business and improving our infrastructure around the group as we continue to expand as a specialty MGA. Stuart’s extensive knowledge and experience will assist our progress and I am confident that he will enhance our underwriting and operational expertise, distribution capability and management of data.
