Outsourcing platform launched for reinsurance vehicles

Taussig Capital, a hedge fund consultancy, has launched an outsourcing platform to enable small hedge funds to raise capital through reinsurance vehicles.

The new platform, Multi Strat Re, will allow smaller fund managers to outsource nearly all functions required to set up a reinsurance vehicle. In the past, smaller hedge fund managers have traditionally not been able to afford the outlay required to start-up a reinsurance vehicle. The new platform significantly reduces those costs, making it a more attractive option to smaller players.

The consultancy has in the past supported larger fund managers, including Greenlight Capital, to set up reinsurance operations.
