Paradigm Health appoints former Texas Insurance Commissioner
Paradigm Health Holdings, a company that offers risk transfer products for the education and self-funded markets, has appointed Jose Montemayor, a former Texas Department of Insurance Commissioner, as its newest executive board member.
Montemayor completes the board assembly and joins Dennis LaBrasca, Alden Bianchi, Clem Dwyer and James Zech.
Montemayor has over 20 years of executive planning, mergers and acquisitions consulting, and regulatory consulting in the insurance and reinsurance marketplace. In 2005, Montemayor became a principal at Black Diamond Capital Partners.
From 1999 to 2005, Montemayor was the Texas Department of Insurance Commissioner. As Commissioner, he was responsible for the licensing, solvency and market conduct of more than 2,000 insurers and health maintenance organizations in the$90-billion-a-year Texas market.
Prior to his appointment as the Texas Department of Insurance Commissioner, Montemayor served in various capacities, including director of licensing and associate commissioner for financial regulation for the Texas Department of Insurance. He is a member of the Texas Society of Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Society of Financial Examiners.
"We are very pleased to announce this appointment," said Dennis LaBrasca, president and chief executive officer of Paradigm Health Holdings.
"Jose brings exceptional leadership and knowledge of the insurance and reinsurance industry sector. Paradigm Health Holdings will not only benefit from his strategic vision for future mergers and acquisitions, but we will leverage his guidance as a well-respected regulatory consultant."
Montemayor added: "I look forward to continuing to serve and partner with Paradigm Health Holdings in this new capacity.
"I am dedicated to this sector because it provides vital human services. Paradigm Health Holdings will play a key role in supporting and developing insurance and health management solutions to improve Americans' access to high-quality care and enhance their quality of life."
