Parker Fitzgerald hires ex-Aviva CEO

Parker Fitzgerald, a professional services firm focused on risk and financial regulation, has appointed Andrew Moss, formerly chief executive officer (CEO) of Aviva, as chairman of its group advisory board.

In his new role, Moss will advise the senior management team at Parker Fitzgerald on key aspects of the firm’s strategy, financial performance and risk management.

Prior to joining Parker Fitzgerald, Moss served as CEO of Aviva, a role he held from 2007 to 2012. He previously served as chief financial officer (CFO) at Lloyds, the world’s specialist insurance market, and has also held senior management positions at HSBC, latterly as CFO for the investment bank and treasury businesses.

Scott Vincent, global managing partner at Parker Fitzgerald, said: “Andrew brings a wealth of experience with him, having worked at some of the world’s leading financial institutions. His market knowledge and insight across the three core sectors we service, banking, insurance and asset management, make him a hugely valuable addition to the firm.

“It is five years since Parker Fitzgerald launched and in that time we have achieved an incredibly strong foothold across the industry. We are now entering the next phase of development and look forward to Andrew’s contribution and assistance as we start to explore new markets.”

Moss said: “Having seen first hand the unprecedented level of regulatory change underway in the financial services industry, it is my firm belief that boards are yet to fully appreciate the long-term impacts of new regulation on their business models.

“Parker Fitzgerald has established itself as a credible partner for the industry. Their insight-driven approach to the delivery of risk and regulatory transformation programmes has helped them build a strong and growing company. By putting my experience to work, now with an objective perspective, I hope to help Parker Fitzgerald deliver on the exciting opportunity the business has ahead of it.”
