Probitas 1492 extends property team with Talbot exec

Probitas 1492, an insurance and reinsurance syndicate at Lloyd's specialising in property, construction and casualty, has expanded its property underwriting team with the appointment of Matthew Goad.

Goad joins the Lloyd’s syndicate as a senior underwriter from Talbot Underwriting, where he most recently served as class property underwriter in London.

At Talbot, he was responsible for underwriting the international property account from Lloyd’s, with a focus on Latin America, New Zealand and Japan. Prior to that, he was based in Dubai and responsible for underwriting and managing the syndicate’s Middle East property and terrorism business.

Jon Foley, chief underwriting officer for property at Probitas 1492, commented: "Goad’s considerable experience and strong reputation in the market continues to enhance our property proposition. With his international experience, including time on the ground in the Middle East, he brings complementary diversification to our emerging and high growth markets focus."
