Probitas unveils financial lines head

Probitas 1492, an underwriting syndicate at Lloyd’s, has appointed Charles Boorman to lead its financial lines team.

As part of his new role, Boorman will manage a team of senior financial lines underwriters, offering professional indemnity, management liability and cover for financial institutions. He will report to Neila Buurman, chief underwriting officer for casualty.

Boorman has 24 years of experience in the London market, having previously worked in commercial directors and officers (D&O) before moving on to head-up financial lines at QBE. He has also spent six years at Aon, specialising in commercial D&O and private equity.

Buurman commented: “We are very excited about Charles joining Probitas. With his background and high profile in the insurance industry, he is in the perfect position to lead our experienced senior financial lines team.”
