ProSight hires non-executive director
ProSight Specialty Underwriters has appointed Mel Goddard as non-executive director with immediate effect.
Goddard brings over thirty years of Lloyd's and London market experience to the role. During her career, she has acted as broker, underwriter and independent consultant. While an executive director at QBE Underwriting at Lloyd's, she was the first woman in Lloyd’s history to be appointed as active underwriter of a syndicate.
She was also a non-executive director of Crowe Livestock Underwriting Limited (now part of Amlin) from 2005-2009. She continues to act as an expert witness and has given expert evidence in numerous court cases and arbitrations in Europe, the US and Bermuda. She is currently a trustee of Lloyd’s Benevolent Fund and market liaison director for Lloyd’s Market Association.
“Mel brings deep knowledge of Lloyd’s and the London Market from her broad executive and non-executive experience,” said Mark Hewett, chairman of ProSight Speciality Underwriters. “She is a highly respected figure in the industry and her insight will greatly benefit the board.”
