QBE hires Euler Hermes exec

QBE European Operations has hired an Euler Hermes exec as it targets growth in its UK and European surety portfolio.

Tom Johnson joins as surety underwriter with QBE’s trade credit and surety department. He will report to Steve Manwaring, surety manager.

Johnson will be responsible for further developing QBE’s surety portfolio in the UK and Europe.

Trevor Williams, head of credit & surety Europe, said: “Tom has a wealth of experience of financial risk assessment from roles in the credit insurance and invoice finance industries. Our surety portfolio has seen significant growth since 2012, built on the delivery of superior service, flexibility and addressing broker and client needs.
