QBE launches aviation unit in Dubai

QBE has launched an excess-of-loss product for aviation liabilities in the Middle East. Based out of Dubai, the product covers general aviation, airlines, ancillary aviation support services and aerospace products.

It will offer a capacity of up to $250 million for airlines and product risks and $200 million for general aviation.

“QBE is a known leader and has extensive experience writing aviation business on a global scale,” said Khalil Eid, general manager of QBE’s Dubai branch.

“Using this expertise, we created an excess liability offering designed to sit above an insured’s existing aviation policy. It is an exciting time for QBE in Dubai as we continue to extend our product range, cementing our position as a business insurance specialist in the Middle East.”
