QBE targets growth in Europe with key appointment

Re/insurer QBE has appointed Constanza Gállegos as head of distribution for Continental Europe.

Tasked with driving the expansion of QBE’s property, casualty and specialist lines portfolio, Gállegos will report to Chris Wallace, executive director of Continental Europe and will be based in London.

Gállegos has been general manager for QBE’s Spanish operation for the past eight years, a role in which she led the growth of the business in its core underwriting lines.

Gállegos will take up her new role in September and will continue to manage the Spanish operation in parallel until her replacement is announced towards the end of the year.

Wallace commented: "Constanza's success at the helm of our Spanish operation makes her the right choice to lead our European distribution practice where she will focus on strengthening the service we provide our customers and broker partners and making our offering consistently high end across the territory."
