RKH hires Euler Hermes exec

RKH Specialty, part of the Hyperion Insurance Group, has appointed Gert Schlossmacher as co-managing director of its financial risks division.

He will join in January 2016, reporting to Barnaby Rugge-Price, chief executive officer of RKH Specialty.

He will work alongside Neil Galletti, focusing on developing its international trade credit business. In addition to this role, he will work closely with Hyperion’s international retail broking business, Howden International.

Schlossmacher joins from Euler Hermes, a provider of credit insurance, where he worked for almost 25 years, most recently as group head of global sales.

Rugge-Price said: “I am extremely pleased to welcome Gert to RKH; we have ambitious plans for growth in our financial risks division, and his expertise, experience and industry reputation will play a key part in this.

“Gert will contribute significantly across all our key product lines: political risks and structured credit; international trade credit; and surety. Our clients’ needs are evolving beyond these separate products, which are often sold in isolation.

“Having someone of Gert’s calibre will help us respond to the evolution of the product and keep us ahead of the market. We are already a leader in the political risks market, and with Gert on board we look forward to achieving a similar position in the trade credit space.”

Schlossmacher added: “I am hugely excited to be joining RKH and its leading financial risks division. I look forward to helping the team enhance and develop its combined product offering to create more comprehensive client solutions.

“Hyperion is well known for its entrepreneurial ethos and culture aimed at fostering innovation, and I'm pleased to be joining such a dynamic and highly regarded group.”
