RLI names board director

Specialty insurer RLI has appointed Robert Restrepo Jr to its board of directors, effective July 1.

Restrepo will be a member of the board for one term, which expires at RLI’s next shareholders’ meeting in May 2017, when he will have to stand for re-election.

He has served as chairman, chief executive officer (CEO) and president of State Auto Insurance Companies.

Prior to this, Restrepo served as senior vice president of insurance operations for Main Street America Group.

He has more than 35 years of insurance industry experience, including leadership positions at Allmerica Financial, Travelers Property & Casualty and Aetna Life & Casualty.
