RSG Underwriting Managers CEO to step down

Jerry Tegan, the president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Ryan Specialty Group (RSG) Underwriting Managers, will step down at the end of 2015.

Tegan, who also currently serves as managing director of RSG, will become a consultant to the company in January 2016.

According to RSG, Tegan was heavily involved in the formation of the company, playing an integral role in building the its foundation, bringing new companies and teams on board and working with the global insurance markets.

Patrick Ryan, chairman and CEO of RSG, said: “Jerry is not going anywhere. He has been critical to the accelerated growth of RSG and our family of underwriting entities, carrier relationships, client relationships and the other specialty services we provide the insurance community.

“He will continue to work with me and be active in the strategic management of RSG in the role of a consultant. When we started RSG, my agreement with Jerry was that he could move into a ‘more relaxed’ role once the company was up and going. Jerry says that now is the time to make that transition.”

Tegan added: “We have built a formidable specialty insurance operation of which I am inordinately proud.

“My transitioning over to a consultancy role at year’s end opens up opportunities for the exceptional people we have operating our underwriting companies and for those working with the insurance markets. I look forward to continuing to work with Pat and the RSG executive team well into the future.”
