Sirius buys US firm ArmadaGlobal to expand accident and health offering
Bermuda-headquartered re/insurance company Sirius International has acquired US-based healthcare specialist ArmadaCorp Capital to boost its accident and health (A&H) insurance business.
The Hunt Valley, Maryland company ArmadaGlobal provides supplemental healthcare insurance products and administration services in the US.
Following the acquisition, ArmadaGlobal will remain in its current headquarters, and continue to be run by its current management team, including Ed Walker who will step into the role of CEO for the insurance products company ArmadaCare, and Steven Schaefer as CEO for the healthcare information technology company ArmadaHealth. Its founders Keith Sullivan and Brian Rogers will serve on ArmadaGlobal's board of directors as key strategic advisors.
