Sompo Canopius hires in heavy industry practice

Sompo Canopius has appointed Andy Fynn as mining engineer under the head of heavy industry  Spencer Pearce.

Fynn has been hired to support company's heavy industry function by sharing best practice with its brokers and clients, and work with them to fully assess risk.

Fynn joins Sompo Canopius from Hawcroft Consulting International, whose UK branch he set up in 2013. He has previously worked at National Coal Board, British Coal, RJB Mining, British Gypsum, and the Queensland Government Mines Inspectorate in Australia.

Pearce said: “The hire of Andy demonstrates Sompo Canopius’s commitment in this class and the underlying strategy to become a leader in this space.
