Suncorp chief risk and legal officer to resign

Suncorp chief risk and legal officer Anna Lenahan has unveiled plans to resign from the Australian general insurer.

Lenahan will take up a senior role at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, according to chief executive officer and managing director Michael Cameron.

She joined Suncorp in March 2011 as executive general manager group general counsel and company secretary.

Cameron said: “Anna has been responsible for streamlining the group’s legal partners’ panel, establishing an industry-leading capability framework for the team, as well as managing a high performing legal and risk function.

“While disappointing, I can understand why Anna has been attracted to this opportunity. On behalf of Suncorp, I’d like to thank Anna for her contribution and wish her well for the future.”

An internal and external search will be conducted to secure Lenahan’s replacement.
