Swiss Re appoints CEO for UK & Ireland
Swiss Re has appointed Frank O'Neill has as chief executive officer (CEO) for the re/insurer’s UK and Ireland operations.
O’Neill will take up the role on 1 February, 2016.
O’Neill joined Swiss Re as a life and health (L&H) underwriter in 1998 in London and after working in a strategy role in Zurich was appointed head of L&H South-East Asia in 2006. He then moved to be global client executive in the US in 2008, followed by his current role as CEO for Middle East & Africa in January 2013.
His prior experience includes leading businesses in Asia, the US and Switzerland during his career at Swiss Re.
O’Neill replaces Russell Higginbotham, who was appointed head of L&H reinsurance products in October 2015.
