Talanx lists on Warsaw Stock Exchange

Germany’s third largest insurance group, Talanx, has begun trading on the Warsaw Stock Exchange at ZI120.00 ($39.62) per share.

Following the acquisition of Polish insurance companies TUiR WARTA and TU Europa, the Talanx Group is now the second biggest insurer in Poland measured by gross premium income with an overall market share of 19 percent at the end of 2013.

Herbert Haas, chairman of the board of management of Talanx, said: “We have now highlighted the importance of the Polish insurance market as the second core market of the Talanx Group after Germany by taking a listing on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. We are delighted that East European and Polish investors are now able to trade our shares also in Warsaw.”

The Talanx share is already listed on the stock exchanges in Frankfurt and Hannover. The listing in Warsaw was not associated with a capital increase or reallocation of shares.
