TMK expands into property owners insurance with hire

Tokio Marine Kiln (TMK) has expanded in to property owners insurance with the appointment of Ann Kelly as its property owners strategic director.

Kelly will be responsible for developing a property owners unit at the insurance firm. This will include formulating the business strategy, product development, team hiring and subsequent tactical implementation of the business plan.

Kelly has more than three decades experience in the property insurance sector.  Before joining TMK she spent almost a decade as head of property owners at a major insurer which included growing the book and managing a department of almost 100 people.

The new hire and the move in to the new business line comes on the back of increasing depth being added to the corporate and commercial property team at TMK, with Paul Dreblow returning to TMK London from Singapore at the start of the year as head of corporate and commercial property.

Peter Leslie, chief underwriting officer, corporate and commercial, TMK, said: “Our presence in the corporate and commercial property market is well established, but what we want to do is offer more products and a greater depth of coverage to our clients. To do this, our strategy is to hire market specialists who are recognised as leaders in their field.

“Ann is a perfect example of this, she is a highly regarded expert in her class and has decades’ of experience in managing property insurance books. I look forward to working with her to grow our property owners proposition to help those businesses across Europe with their insurance needs.”
