Twelve Capital opens London office

Twelve Capital, the Zurich-based independent investment manager, has opened an office in London.

The manager has been authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as a MiFID investment firm.

This comes four years after its launch, in which time the firm has grown from $100 million to $3.5 billion in assets under management.

Dr. Urs Ramseier, partner, chairman and CIO, has relocated from Zurich to London and will lead the London team.

Joining the London team are: Andrew Townend, partner, senior credit analyst and insurance debt portfolio manager; Laura Santori, partner, senior credit analyst and insurance debt portfolio manager; Mark Wauton, director, senior portfolio manager, Dinesh Pawar, director, portfolio management and head of trading; Richard Guerin, director, consultant relations.

Twelve Capital said the new office is part of an effort to enhance its investment and business development activities.

“As Twelve Capital continues to build its investment team, enhanced access to an excellent pool of insurance and capital markets talents will benefit current and future investors alike. The platform also enables full integration in the London market and is vital to further facilitate interaction with market participants such as the major insurance brokerage houses, investment banks and the insurance companies themselves, and supports sourcing of select investment opportunities,” said Twelve Capital.

It added that its physical presence in London allows for proximity to a large institutional investor base and positions the firm well for the next phase of growth.

Dr. Urs Ramseier, chairman, Twelve Capital, said: “We are excited to open our office in the City. We want to be close to our clients, the broker community, the big insurance houses and of course Europe’s prime capital market. Moreover, we are convinced that London offers an excellent talent pool for exactly the specialists we need.”
