Willis completes Elite Risk acquisition
Broker Willis has completed its acquisition of Taiwanese broker Elite Risk Services.
The acquisition almost doubles the size of Willis’ business in the country and will enable Willis to strength its offering to larger accounts, particularly in the technology, media & telecoms (TMT) and marine industry sectors.
Elite’s 24 staff will become part of Willis Taiwan as soon as practicable, and will operate under the Willis brand, subject to regulatory approval.
Willis Taiwan currently employs 38 staff from its headquarters in Taipei.
Adam Garrard, Asia regional chief executive officer (CEO) of Willis, said: “The completion of this acquisition creates a platform for growth in Taiwan and across the region, with a highly motivated, innovative, responsive and technically skilled workforce to service our clients and prospects.”
Jason Huang, chairman and president of Elite, said: “I am delighted that we have concluded this deal. By combining the strengths of our two firms, we will be able to offer our clients additional expertise, experience and product knowledge. I look forward to drawing on the extensive global resources of Willis Group to bring specialised knowledge to our clients.”
