Willis granted injunction against JLT

The UK Court of Appeal has granted Willis an injunction against JLT preventing it from recruiting any more staff after a mass defection.

At the beginning of April, JLT Specialty poached more than 20 Willis executives to fill its specie, fine art and jewellery ranks. David Gordon, formerly the global managing director of Willis fine art, jewellery and specie, was appointed as chief executive officer (CEO) of the JLT division.

“Willis confirms that the Court of Appeal in London has allowed Willis' appeal and has granted an injunction preventing further recruitment of Willis' Fine Art, Jewellery and Specie (FAJS) employees worldwide by JLT until a further hearing which will be held shortly. Willis employee Mr David Gordon has provided undertakings to the court to trial. The legal proceedings are continuing,” said Willis.

“We are committed to investing in, and continually improving, our offering to FAJS clients under the strong leadership of the newly-appointed Global CEO of FAJS, Seth Peller.”
