XL appoints North America P&C COO

XL Group’s North America property & casualty (NAPC) insurance business has promoted Donna Nadeau to the position of chief operating officer (COO).

Nadeau assumes the COO role previously held by Mike Garceau, recently named chief financial officer of XL Group’s global insurance operations. She will report to Joe Tocco, NAPC chief executive.

In this role, she will manage the operational functions supporting XL Group’s NAPC businesses. In addition to leading NAPC’s budget & planning processes, Nadeau’s responsibilities also include developing the business’ support and strategic resources and directing its expense, performance and IT management.

Nadeau previously served as NAPC’s chief actuary. She joined XL in 2003 and was named a managing director to XL Group’s leadership council in May 2014.

Tocco said: “In the last few years, Donna dramatically changed how our actuaries work with our business leaders and underwriters and helped deliver data analytics and monitoring tools that help us manage profitability and grow wisely. Her incredible analytic skills, knowledge of our businesses, and attention to operational effectiveness will serve our team well as she steps in to our COO role.”
