XL Catlin adds underwriting experts to US excess casualty unit

XL Catlin has appointed Byron Goebel and Eric Buttner as senior underwriters in its excess casualty Dallas team, and Alan Short in Kansas City.

"To meet continued demand for quality commercial umbrella and excess liability insurance, XL Catlin’s excess casualty team is adding underwriting expertise in Dallas, Texas and Kansas City, Missouri," the company said in a statement.

Goebel and Short joins XL Catlin from CNA, where Goebel served as the excess underwriter, developing a diverse portfolio of lead umbrella and excess casualty programs, and Short as an underwriting consultant.

Buttner has previously served as an excess casualty account executive at Travelers.
