XL Catlin boosts London product recall team

XL Catlin has strengthened its London-based product recall team with the appointment of Natalie Lilley and the transfer of Ian Davidson.

Lilley joins XL Catlin from Canopius where she has held the position of contaminated products underwriter since April 2012, with responsibility for diversifying and growing the company’s product recall business. Lilley previously held a range of underwriting positions at Liberty and AIG.

Ian Davidson, senior underwriter, product recall, has transferred to London from the company’s Sydney office. Davidson brings knowledge of product recall risks across Asia Pacific to the benefit of London market clients – many of whom have supply chain exposures in the Asia Pacific region.

Mark Hutton, XL Catlin’s UK head of product recall said: “Product recalls are on the increase across a diverse range of industry sectors and clients are now in even greater need of solutions that really address their key exposures.

“Reputational issues associated with the rise of social media for example, means our clients have to be prepared to respond using new language and platforms. In line with these exposures, a core component of our product recall offering is the inclusion of Response XL Catlin, a network of global crisis management experts, on hand 24/7 to help our clients respond to incidents in the quickest, most effective manner.

“I am confident that as a team we are best positioned to help address the evolving risks faced by our product recall clients, helping protect their businesses and long term profitability. Ian and Natalie will add significant experience and expertise to the London team.”

The XL Catlin product recall team in London is now six underwriters strong with the additional internal appointment of two new assistant underwriters. Nick Gibbs joins from the Claims department bringing solid claims handling experience to the team while Toby Moss has also transferred from his previous position as an operations analyst.
