XL Catlin hires Allied World AVP

XL Catlin’s insurance operations has appointed Wilson Yeo as property manager for Singapore.

Yeo has over 23 years of experience writing property/casualty, having most recently served as assistant vice president (AVP) at Allied World Assurance Company.

Prior to that, he held various property/casualty roles at Guardian Royal Exchange, Federal Insurance Company/Chubb, Allianz Insurance Company of Singapore, AXA Insurance Singapore and Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance Plc.

Tim McMahon, head of energy, property and Construction for Asia Pacific, commented: “We are delighted to have Wilson join our team. With his extensive and in-depth knowledge of multinational corporates and their global insurance program requirements, Wilson will further strengthen our team and our offering to clients and their brokers in a market where underwriting expertise and services are the real differentiators.”

David Guest, country manager, Singapore, added: “Singapore is a core market for our clients. The Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) reports that Singapore drew in S$11.5 billion ($8.4 billion) in fixed-asset investment in 2015, exceeding its S$9 billion to S$11 billion forecast.

“Many of these companies with operations locally have some significant property assets and need sophisticated insurance solutions. It is therefore crucial to have the right expertise in place to address these clients’ needs. Wilson’s appointment demonstrates XL Catlin’s commitment to investing in our talents and delivering for our clients and brokers in the region.”
