XL Catlin lures Chubb exec to lead E&S business

XL Catlin has appointed Stephen Oh as president of its excess and surplus (E&S) business in the US.

Based in New York, Oh will direct regional underwriting operations, product distribution and development as well as strategic growth plans. He will report to Joe Tocco, chief executive of XL Catlin's Americas region.

Oh joins from Chubb, where he most recently served as president of Chubb Custom Market.

Tocco said: "Businesses turn to E&S insurers, like XL Catlin, to address complex risks from which other insurers shy away. To address such complicated risks, XL Catlin has pulled together a very seasoned team of dedicated surplus lines underwriters, developed a diverse portfolio of insurance products and earned a reputation as a formidable, competitive E&S carrier.

“Now, under Stephen's leadership, we look forward to building on that strong market reputation for addressing complex risks with innovative E&S solutions."
