XL Catlin poaches RSA exec to lead GAPS

XL Catlin has appointed Jonathan Salter as head of global property risk engineering, also known as Global Asset Protection Services (GAPS).

Based in London, and reporting to Michele Sansone, XL Catlin's president, North America property, Salter will lead XL Catlin's property risk engineering services worldwide, beginning May 25.

Salter joins XL Catlin from RSA. He hass more than 19 years' experience in the insurance industry. Previously, he helped establish RSA's property risk engineering capabilities and co-founded and managed Elciem Ltd, a private property risk engineering firm.

Sansone said: "In today's competitive property insurance market, our global property underwriting capabilities stand out, thanks in a large part to the value-added loss prevention expertise that our property risk engineering team shares.

“Under Jonathan's leadership, we'll reinforce the significant value that property risk engineering adds to not only our property insurance offering, but directly to our clients' property protection efforts."
