Founded in 2017, AkinovA is a regulated electronic marketplace for the transfer and trading of re/insurance risk. Although it’s an independent marketplace, AkinovA is backed by Hiscox, MS&AD, a large analytics corporate, Plug and Play Insurtech, New York-based marketplace venture capitalist FJ Labs, Israel based VC FinTLV and others.
Sector: Cyber risk, Property catastrophe
AkinovA is guided by an advisory board with a blend of insurance linked securities, growth, capital markets, cyber, trading and re/insurance expertise.
Designed with all parts of the re/insurance risk value chain in mind, the AkinovA marketplace offers a digitally native, one-stop-shop with integrated chat, document sharing and control, clearing services, price discovery, market animation analytics and third party actuarial, data, news and analytics. This, according to AkinovA, fundamentally reduces costs and increases speed for users while also enabling the creation of innovative new products for clients.
AkinovA focuses on cyber risk and property catastrophe markets for which the marketplace is already regulated. To promote liquidity and speed of settlement, initial products traded on the marketplace will be parametric or index-based and have close similarities to industry loss warranty contracts.
