AF Group launches new specialty unit; hires Halter for P&C programmes
US-based insurance provider AF Group has appointed Eric Halter as director of AF Specialty, the company's new business division focused on providing fronting capacity to insurance carriers, managing general agents (MGA), reinsurance intermediaries and captive managers.
In his new role, Halter will partner with entities who are seeking a fronting facility to place well-managed, turnkey property and casualty (P&C) programmes.
According to the company, Halter most recently served as president of a large captive management organisation, overseeing its global operations and leading the organisation to significant profitability and growth.
"We are excited to introduce AF Specialty to our portfolio and welcome Eric as our resident expert to develop this new brand," said Lisa Corless, president of AF Group.
"For more than a century, we have built strong partnerships with agents to provide outstanding and innovative service in the workers' compensation space. Today we are offering this same expertise and delivery system to a broader market."
Corless added: "Eric's considerable expertise in navigating state insurance and financial regulatory issues and his exceptional knowledge of captives, reinsurance and mergers and acquisitions will serve us well as we build new relationships with insurance partners."
