Specialty insurer Beazley has appointed former Chaucer CEO Robert Stuchbery as non-executive director and member of the audit and risk committee.
Stuchbery has been chief executive officer of Lloyd’s underwriter Chaucer until 2015 and held many management roles at the company for over 25 years. He remains chairman of the Chaucer Foundation.
Beazley's chairman Dennis Holt said "I am pleased to welcome Bob to the board of Beazley plc. Bob's deep knowledge of the Lloyd's market and distribution and operational strategies will be an asset to the board."
At Beazley, Stuchbery will succeed Vincent Sheridan who has been a non-executive director for seven years. Sheridan will resign from the board and audit and risk committee on December 31, 2016. Sheridan will remain a director of Beazley Re Designated Activity Company, the Group's Irish subsidiary.
Beazley has also appointed Stuchbery as a non-executive director to the board of Beazley Furlonge, the Lloyd’s managing agency.
