Brit targets fine art and specie sector with new product

Brit, the global specialty insurer, has launched a newly created product targeting the fine art and specie sector.

The product, Conexus, has been designed by Brit to combine cover for fine art and specie, property business interruption and general liability into a single policy. Traditionally, these three pieces of cover would need to have been bought separately, meaning an increased level of administration for brokers and clients.

Conexus will initially target business in North America.

Craig Dennis, senior underwriter at Brit, said: “By creating a package combining fine art and specie, property business interruption (BI) and general liability, we can offer brokers and their clients a far more appealing and convenient product, allowing them to access best-in-class cover for their business through one underwriter and a unified product.

“We continue to see demand for this type of offering, and are delighted that Brit is able to lead the way in designing new products to meet the evolving needs of the insured.”

Matthew Wilson, Brit group deputy chief executive officer (CEO) and Brit Global Speciality CEO, said: “At Brit we have always prided ourselves on thinking differently and innovating to maintain a competitive position, and to this extent we are delighted to launch Conexus. This is a great example of our ability to use the wealth of expertise across our business and willingness to innovate to respond to a market need.”
