Canopius rebrands to become Sompo Canopius

Canopius has rebranded to become Sompo Canopius.

The rebrand follows the acquisition of the specialty re/insurer by Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Insurance in 2014 and its subsequent integration into the Sompo Holdings group.  Sompo Canopius is one of the top ten insurers in the Lloyd's insurance market, writing premiums in excess of £1 billion and also operates through company platforms in Europe and the US, as well as other overseas offices.

“Today is an exciting moment in our story as we adopt a new brand and visual identity that reflect our ownership,” said Stuart Davies, chief executive officer, Sompo Canopius.
