Clements Worldwide targets deals; expands to Dubai

Following its recent acquisition of UK-based expat insurer, Clements Worldwide, a provider of international insurance solutions, has said it is now seeking further growth, both organic and through more acquisitions. The company has also opened an office in Dubai.

The company recently announced its acquisition of UK-based expat insurer  Italsure as part of a global expansion strategy.

Dan Francis, UK director at Clements Worldwide, said the business is now seeking more opportunities for growth. “We are always on the lookout for appropriate, new and exciting deal opportunities with which to promote growth on 2013,” he said.

Speaking about Italsure, he said the deal will benefit both parties. “Italsure has an established footprint throughout the UK and continental Europe. With this acquisition, we will leverage their existing strengths for a more effective expansion across Europe. We couldn’t be more pleased about this alignment and look forward to integrating the Italsure book of business.”

Existing Italsure clients will immediately benefit from Clements’ global service support. Likewise, Italsure customers can now directly access Clements’ comprehensive portfolio of international insurance products, which includes specialty high-risk cover such as kidnap & ransom or war & terrorism.

Meanwhile, Clements has also opened an office in Dubai from which it plans to target the MENA region. The new office complements its existing bases in Washington DC and London. It will be headed up by newly appointed director Andy Grimes.

The new office will extend the delivery of commercial cover such as its international fleet program and specialty risk insurance products such as coverage against political violence and kidnap & ransom.
