Lloyd’s CEO John Neal recovering in hospital after serious accident

Lloyd’s of London chief executive John Neal (pictured) is taking a leave of absence after being involved in a bike accident over the weekend.

Neal is said to have been seriously injured and hospitalised, but is expected to make a full recovery, the corporation said Monday (March 28).

It has been reported that Burkhard Keese, chief operating officer and chief financial officer, and Patrick Tiernan, chief of markets, will lead the marketplace in Neal’s absence, according to a statement by Lloyd’s.

Neal’s whole career has been associated with the Lloyd’s market; he was appointed CEO of Lloyd’s in October 2018. Neal has a track record as a highly effective leader in the insurance and reinsurance industry to deliver business transformation.
