QBE lures Nationwide exec

QBE North America has appointed Nathan Bleich as vice president, commercial agriculture underwriting.

Based in Denver, Colorado, Bleich will report to Walter Grote, senior vice president commercial insurance.

Bleich will guide the strategic development of commercial agriculture underwriting and operational framework by driving effectiveness, strong risk analysis, and continual policy and process improvement to deliver organisational growth, according to QBE.

He joins from Nationwide where he spent the past 12 years working in the agribusiness division, most recently as agribusiness underwriting director, where he was responsible for profitably growing a 17 state underwriting territory, and driving strong multi-channel agency partnerships.

"Nathan's appointment further strengthens our commercial agribusiness department and will allow us to continue to build and execute our growth strategy with the benefit of his deep industry expertise and knowledge," said Grote.

He added: "Commercial agriculture is a critical growth segment for our commercial insurance business. Nathan's leadership of the dedicated underwriting team servicing the unique needs of our commercial agriculture clients will position us as a market of choice.”
