RSA to establish presence at Lloyd’s

UK commercial insurer RSA will establish a presence in the Lloyd’s building to help develop and grow its London market wholesale business.

RSA said the move strengthens its growth strategy with the potential to access an additional £23 billion of London market business. It also said it complements the insurer’s comprehensive distribution model, which includes e-trading and its regional trading sites.

From January 25, RSA’s expert underwriters will be at hand on the fourth floor of the 1 Lime Street building to write, from both a lead and follow line position, all classes of marine (including hull, transportation and cargo), property, construction, engineering, power, renewable energy, accident and health and financial risks from their new desks in the Lloyd's building.

“Feedback from our brokers has driven our decision to move into the Lloyd’s building while keeping 20 Fenchurch Street as our key trading site,” said Jon Hancock, managing director, RSA UK commercial.

“Our underwriters will be available across the two locations. This significant move underscores our commitment to be closer to our brokers by expanding our footprint to make it easier to trade with us.”

“Our international wholesale business has grown significantly over the last few years and our presence in the Lloyd’s building will further help us achieve profitable growth in 2016 and beyond.”
