Sciemus expands space and aviation, cyber and power teams

Modelling and analytics provider Sciemus has expanded its space/aviation, and cyber and power teams with three appointments.

Phil Duffin has been appointed as director for space and aviation, Matthew Cook joins as senior technical specialist for power and George Paraskeva joins as a cyber security specialist.

Duffin has more than 35 years of experience in the global aerospace and re/insurance industries, having most recently served as an executive director specialising in aviation and space at Willis Re.

Cook is a chartered mechanical engineer who joins from PwC, and has recently led gas turbine research programmes and carried out testing and commissioning work on a range of sites in Europe and the Middle East.

Paraskeva has over 10 years of experience in the in the legal, IT consultancy, financial and insurance sectors, having previously served as a cyber security consultant with BAE Detica.

All three of the hires will be based in London and will report to Sciemus CEO Rick Welsh.

They will be responsible for building on Sciemus’ technical expertise and product innovation to develop the space and aviation, and cyber and power underwriting portfolios.
